Hello friends. Happy October!! This month is full of new trails to explore — both on the road and at the writing desk! I’m thrilled to share some big news about a brand-new TV adventure I’m filming, plus a peek inside my writing nook, a fun throwback to the time I tried my hand at gold panning in Finland, and a little reminder about how much your reviews mean to me. On the Road with RangerRose – Coming Soon!
Big news! I’m stepping in front of the camera for a brand-new adventure series called On the Road with Ranger Rose! 🎥
This week (October 9th), I’ll be filming the first episode for Auburn Community Television (and it’ll be posted on YouTube too!). We’ll start by climbing over Donner Summit, then head down Nevada Highway 95 through Tonopah and Goldfield, soaking in the history and wild desert scenery.
From there it’s off to Tecopa Hot Springs, the stunning Valley of Fire State Park, peaceful Pahranagat Lake, and yes — even the legendary ET Highway near Area 51 — before looping back through Tonopah.
It may be a little ambitious, but isn’t that what adventure is all about? 😉 Stay tuned — I can’t wait to share the journey with you!
From my writing nook to yours
Tucked away in our attic-style study is where the magic of Tales from a Rogue Ranger and Trip Tales: From Family Camping to Life as a Ranger first came to life — and where something new is quietly brewing. 
This cozy little corner, complete with my replica roll-top desk, is my favorite place to write. It feels like stepping back in time, surrounded by old books, nature journals, and the occasional half-eaten trail mix stash (priorities, right?).
Up on the shelf, Ranger Rose — my tiny muse — keeps watch in front of a watercolor of my book cover, reminding me to keep chasing stories rooted in nature, family, and adventure.
And yes… book three is officially in the works! Stay tuned, friends.
Throwback Adventure: Panning for Gold
Here’s a blast from the past — me, knee-deep in adventure, learning how to pan for gold in Tankaväära Creek in Finland! The water was icy, the gravel heavy, and my technique… well, let’s just say it was a work in progress. But every swirl of the pan carried that spark of discovery — the thrill that maybe, just maybe, I’d strike gold.
Moments like these remind me that adventure isn’t about what you find, it’s about what you try.
